Giovanni Bucci is a Dutch-Italian multidisciplinary artist with roots in both Los Angeles and London, seamlessly merging the realms of film, design, and music with an innovative spirit that has defined his 20-year career. As an award-winning Director / Creative Director and Motion Designer his work stands out for its compelling visuals, dynamic flow, and seamless audio-video integration.

Gio’s expertise stretches across the creative process, from brainstorming ideas to directing, cinematography, design, animation, and editing. His diverse skills have contributed to a variety of projects, such as commercials, music videos, promos, and title sequences, delivering exceptional work for high-end brands, including Red Bull, MTV, Netflix, FX, Nike, Warner Bros, Sony, Riot Games, and Apple.

Gio’s collaborative ventures span across leading companies like Saatchi & Saatchi, Psyop, Framestore, Prologue Films, Elastic, yU+co, The Mill, and Publicis, showcasing his versatility and ability to bring visionary ideas to life. His contributions have been celebrated in Rolling Stone, Computer Arts, Stash, Idn, Revolver Magazine, Post Magazine, among others.

In 2011, Giovanni’s standout experimental short ‘Addictions‘ caught attention as a Vimeo Staff Pick. This spotlight led to his direction of music videos for famous bands like Korn, Dave Santan, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and ORGY, winning him Telly Awards, American Movie Awards, and LA Music Video Awards, and solidifying his respected name in the music world.

Giovanni has made significant contributions through his work in the film industry collaborating with renowned professionals like Michael Bay, Kyle Cooper, Danny Yount, and Tim Miller. This includes his dual role as a cinematographer and motion designer for the film titles of ‘The Antlers‘ produced by Guillermo del Toro, his art direction for the ‘Star Trek Beyond‘ main title and as a motion designer to high-profile films such as ‘Pacific Rim Uprising‘, ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ and ‘RoboCop‘ (2014).
Furthermore, in 2022, Giovanni was part of the Prologue Film team that worked on ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ title reveal which was honored with a Silver Clio Award.

Alongside his video production career, in 2018 Gio made his entry into the music scene with his independent band ODDKO, fusing his love for music and visuals. As the band’s mastermind, he writes, performs, and directs. ODDKO’s debut music video, “Disobey” garnered 4 million views, while the band’s YouTube channel attracted 60k followers, underlining Giovanni’s ability to captivate and grow a dedicated fan base from the ground up.

In 2023, Gio’s innovative designs, still deeply rooted in his rich cultural Italian heritage, was celebrated when he was selected as one of the 28 most inspiring stories featured in the European Institute of Design (IED) 50th-anniversary book, out of over 10,000 alumni. Additionally, praised by Marco Montemagno on SKY NEWS 24 for the freshness and distinction of his work, Giovanni’s acclaim spans beyond academia into the Italian media, highlighting the need to cherish and retain local creative talents.

Bridging the gap between music and video production Gio’s expertise is further recognized as he serves as a respected judge at prominent film festivals and awards worldwide, including the Clio Awards, Telly Awards, and LA Music Video Awards.
